24 Tote Bags

I finished sewing 24 tote bags from a client's recycled vinyl banners. Great to have a repetitive project to hone one's sewing skills. For a few of them I was able to preserve the grommeted edge. For the majority of the bags I used a seam binding made from another piece of vinyl. The client is going to give them away as prizes for a Stampede barbeque.

Tapestry Handlebar Bag

Here I used a retired-pattern upholstery sample to make a bicycle handlebar bag. The cylinder end pieces and the loops and such are made out of recycled vinyl. I also lined the bag with white vinyl. It has a removable strap and the hardware was scavenged from an old sports bag.

The end result is nice, but a bit heavier than expected. I think I'll use a nylon lining for the next one.

I gave this one to my friend who said she liked it.

Garden Fencing

This idea for garden fencing comes from the necessity of keeping soccer balls out of the garden. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, now to adjust the positions of the tabs and make some more for this flower bed.
This design only requires inexpensive bamboo stakes to install. The tab and slot extensions at the sides adjust to fit the diameter of the bamboo stake.

Three Soap Tote Designs

A soap tote is a bag made out of recycled vinyl, that has an inner mesh drying sleeve that hangs down when drying, then folds up for storage and travel. The loop can be hung on anything that is handy, even a tree branch when camping. I have been working on designing the mesh, then harmonizing the design to go along with the mesh. That is why the fish scale mesh has a gold fish ornament. The bucking Bronco one is rodeo themed because the Calgary Stampede is coming and visitors to our city might like this sort of souvenir. If you notice I have incorporated the bucking bronco into the mesh.
